Much improved over the part it replaced (W10290499)
We have a Whirlpool duet front loader. The clothes kept getting rip. Then a crack appeared in the bellow. We noticed that the clothes got stuck in between the tube and the door. The friction created the crack. There is a gap about 1/8". This new bellow has a larger inner surface which makes the gap smaller. It is also much thicker where the cracked developed. There is also a rubber stopper at the top of the bellow so if the clothes got stuck, it will be unstuck there instead of going all the way and rip. So overall it is a better design. I think Whirlpool should replace this for free since I know another family who also have similar unit. They also ran into the problems we were having. We are not sure how long it will last though. Our next washer will not be a Whirpool/Kenmore/Maytag.
perfect fit for Maytag 2000 series
Did the removal and reinstall myself with a bit of help from my wife. We were able to complete the job in under 2 hours. Hardest part was getting the spring clamp back onto the bellow!
Worked Great
At first the repair seemed heavily involved....but my 16 year old son watched a youtube video showing how to change it and managed to do the whole project in about 30 minutes. Sure beat paying for a repair man!
